Chaperones are required at every practice regardless of the age group of the team. Most importantly, they are a second pair of hands in case of an injury or illness of one of the players. But other things can happen that require another set of hands, such as an emergency on the part of the trainer or coach running the practice, or a behavior problem with players requiring some parental intervention. Chaperones must remain at the practice field until the last player has been picked up and thus handles problems with pick-ups.
